Nalvi Duro
Officer of the National Albanian Registry — an unpaid volunteer, like the whole board.
About Nalvi
Nalvi is a bioinformatics scientist at Booz Allen Hamilton, supporting the VA's Million Veteran Program — one of the largest genomic research programs in the world. He holds a PhD in cell and molecular biology from the University of South Florida. He is from Lushnja and lives in Tampa, where he serves as President of the AANO Tampa Chapter.
As Secretary of NAR, he keeps the record: board minutes, decisions, and the paper trail a nonprofit owes the people it counts. It suits him — his day job is making large, messy datasets say something true, and the registry is that same discipline applied to his own community.
His reason is simple and he does not dress it up: a strong community is worth building for its own sake. Not for what it wins, not for what it proves to anyone else — because Albanians in America are better off connected than scattered, and a count is the first thing connected people have.
