The Census counts about 224,000 of us. We think it's closer to a million — and the only way to prove it is to count.

The National Albanian Registry is a volunteer nonprofit building the real count of Albanian Americans. Add your name — 2 minutes.

  • Most questions are optional. Only the ones marked with a red * are required — answer as much of the rest as you'd like.
  • Your information is never sold or shared — not with companies, not with any government, here or in Albania. How we protect it →
  • This isn't politics — it's counting ourselves so the country has to. Every other diaspora started with a real number. Ours starts with your name.
  • What you get: a free, numbered Certificate of Albanian Identity — signed, verifiable, yours to keep — and your place in the Albanian community's real count.
Privacy & how the count works

Who sees it? Only NAR's volunteer team — the same people building this. Encrypted at rest. Never sold. Never shared with advertisers, data brokers, peer Albanian-American nonprofits, or any government agency — foreign or domestic.

Why do you ask about heritage? The Census counts ~224,000 Albanian Americans. We think the real number is near 1 million. The only way to prove it is to count — and to know where people come from.

Do I fill everything out? No — required fields are marked, and the rest is your call. The three heritage questions are required: a record without them can't be counted.
