Manhattan University Albanian Student Association (MUASA)

The Manhattan University Albanian Student Association (MUASA) is a student club at Manhattan College in Riverdale, the Bronx, dedicated to Albanian culture and community on campus. The group operates under the college's student organization structure rather than as a separate nonprofit, and reaches Albanian and non-Albanian students alike through cultural programming held in spaces like Kelly Commons.

MUASA was founded on September 22, 2022 by Eleni Mazija. In the few years since, Albanian-American outlet Gazeta Dielli has described it as a cultural and philanthropic presence on campus, and by 2025 the club had hosted its 4th Annual Albanian Independence Day Celebration — a campus event with a DJ, dancing, food, raffles, and giveaways, also covered by Manhattan College's student paper, The Quadrangle.

Beyond the Independence Day celebration, MUASA runs an annual Albanian dance night that draws both Albanian and non-Albanian students, and ties some of its events to fundraising for Albanian-American causes. The mix of cultural programming and donations is what Gazeta Dielli points to in calling the group both cultural and philanthropic.

MUASA's public footprint lives largely on its Instagram account, @mualbanianclub, where event recaps and invitations are posted each semester. Within the wider Albanian-American student landscape in the New York area, it is one of the younger campus clubs carrying Albanian Independence Day programming into a college setting.
