Albanian Roots Club at St. Francis College

The Albanian Roots Club (ARC) is a student organization at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York. Founded in 2017, the club operates under the college's student activities framework rather than as a standalone nonprofit, and its stated focus is celebrating Albanian culture within the Franciscan community at SFC.

The club's mission centers on preserving Albanian heritage among students studying overseas and fostering a sense of belonging for Albanian students on campus. It also introduces aspects of Albanian culture to domestic and international students at SFC, and shares practical information aimed at the needs of foreign students adjusting to college life in the United States.

Programming includes interactive cultural activities and panel discussions on community issues. Gazeta Dielli covered an ARC-hosted panel on female empowerment, and the club has co-hosted events with outside partners, including one honoring former Prime Minister of Montenegro Dr. Dritan Abazović. A 2019 event drew public thanks from community figure Marko Kepi.

Leadership is held by student officers. A February 2023 NY Elite Press feature named Herta Hada as president, and SFC's own alumni coverage notes that Alkida Koleci '23 served the club in several roles, most recently as vice president. Within the Albanian-American community, the Albanian Roots Club functions as a campus-based cultural hub in Brooklyn, with visibility in Albanian diaspora media and event-based collaborations rather than off-campus service programs.
