Albanian American Law Students Association at New York Law School

The Albanian American Law Students Association at New York Law School is a student affinity group based at NYLS in lower Manhattan. It is listed among the school's official student organizations and operates under the law school's umbrella rather than as a separately incorporated nonprofit.

According to NYLS's own description, the group exists to provide a sense of community for Albanians in the legal field, offer a platform to address cultural, political, and legal issues important to the community, and bring together Albanian American lawyers to support the practice of law and encourage the next generation of attorneys. In practice, that means community-building among Albanian and Albanian-American law students, programming around issues that matter to the diaspora, and connections between students and practicing lawyers.

Leadership is student-run. The chapter's public Instagram account, NYLS ALSA, recruits members and invites students to help lead and grow the group, consistent with a rotating slate of student officers typical of law-school affinity organizations.

The immediate audience is NYLS students in New York City, but the school frames the chapter's reach more broadly by referencing Albanian American lawyers as well as students — placing it within the wider New York–area Albanian-American legal community. It is distinct from similarly named groups at other schools, including the Albanian American Law Students Association at Suffolk University in Boston.
