The Albanian American Islamic Center of NY & NJ marks Bajram i Madh — Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice — with the morning Eid prayer and a community gathering at its Garfield mosque. Founded in 1962, AAIC is the focal point for spiritual and social life among Albanian Muslims in the New York metropolitan area, drawing families from across Bergen and Passaic counties. Bajram i Madh commemorates Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God and is one of the two most important holidays in the Albanian Muslim calendar.
